Job Description

The Civil construction estimator position must have a minimum of 5+ years experience as a civil construction estimator with DOT experience a must. The estimator will be responsible for estimating the cost of projects and materials as well as working with a variety of team members, including construction crews, purchasing agents, and other managers to determine how much it will cost to complete a project in a timely manner.

This position requires a strong understanding of:

* Asphalt paving

* Site grading

* Earthwork

* Storm drainage

* Underground utilities

* Erosion control

* Concrete and site improvements

* Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans and specifications

* Experience performing quantity takeoffs

A candidate's key skills and qualifications include:

* Proficiency in math, statistics, data analysis, and analytical

* Strategic planning skills

* Familiarity with developing material and cost estimates for large projects

* Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and project management software

* Strong computer, communication, and organization skills

* Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
