Job description
Our client is seeking a committed Civil Engineer to play a key role in municipal infrastructure development projects in Paarl, Western Cape . You will be involved in the planning, design, and implementation of essential public infrastructure, including roads, water supply, and sanitation systems. This position offers the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to community development and service delivery in a rapidly growing area. We are looking for an engineer with strong project management skills and a solid understanding of municipal engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full project lifecycle for municipal infrastructure projects, from conception to completion.
Design and oversee the construction of new and upgrade of existing water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
Prepare tender documents, specifications, and engineering drawings for municipal projects.
Ensure compliance with municipal standards, building regulations, and environmental legislation.
Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to contractors during construction.
Liaise with internal municipal departments, external consultants, and the public on infrastructure matters.
Requirements
BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering; Professional registration (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) is highly desirable.
5+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure design and project management.
Proven experience in managing projects related to water, sanitation, and roads.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software.
Thorough understanding of municipal planning processes and procurement regulations.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
