Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Site Development Engineer to support the design and development of utility and energy infrastructure projects throughout the Southeast. This position will play a key role in civil engineering design for electrical substations and related utility facilities, with responsibilities spanning site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, permitting, and construction support.
This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys working on technically challenging projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare civil engineering designs for site development projects, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, paving, and erosion and sediment control.
Develop site layouts, construction plans, and engineering drawings for utility, energy, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create and maintain design models, plan sets, and supporting documentation.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support stormwater management and drainage design.
Prepare technical reports, calculations, permit applications, and supporting regulatory documentation.
Interpret geotechnical information and incorporate findings into site development and design solutions.
Support foundation and earthwork design efforts in coordination with project requirements and site conditions.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure designs are integrated and delivered efficiently.
Assist with environmental, local, state, and utility permitting activities.
Participate in quality control reviews of engineering deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable standards.
Support construction activities through site visits, field observations, and coordination with contractors and stakeholders.
Contribute to project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia.
6+ years of experience in civil site development engineering.
Strong experience in grading, drainage, and stormwater management design.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Knowledge of applicable civil engineering design standards and permitting processes.
Strong communication and project coordination skills.
Preferred
PE registration in additional states.
Experience supporting utility, energy, industrial, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with permitting and regulatory approvals.
Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
