Job description
Apply civil rights expertise to help improve next-generation AI systems through accurate, practical legal analysis. This remote contract role focuses on translating complex civil rights issues into high-quality content and expert feedback for AI development. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret complex civil rights statutes, regulations, and case law for accuracy and relevance.
Conduct detailed legal research and prepare summaries, memoranda, and analyses of key issues and precedents.
Create and review realistic civil rights scenarios, hypotheticals, and legal problems for AI model development.
Assess AI-generated legal analyses, provide expert feedback, and confirm alignment with legal standards.
Work with interdisciplinary teams to clarify legal concepts, resolve ambiguities, and maintain input quality.
Develop clear, concise legal content for varied learning contexts.
Identify emerging civil rights risks and trends connected to AI and technology platforms.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and bar admission in at least one jurisdiction.
Substantial civil rights law experience, preferably including work at a prominent large law firm.
Strong experience in legal research, legal writing, case law analysis, policy analysis, and statutory interpretation, including complex, high-stakes matters.
Excellent critical thinking, attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal audiences.
Experience in multidisciplinary or technology-driven environments is valued.
Interest in law, policy, emerging technology, AI, and AI''s societal impacts.
Work Terms
Remote independent contractor engagement.
Compensation
$140 to $400 per hour.
