Job description
Claims InvestigatorInvestigate, validate, evaluate, negotiate and settle all claims as assigned.Submit reserve recommendations on assigned claims.Communicate with the public regarding procedures, problems, and coverages.Negotiate fair settlement with individual claimants or Attorneys.Maintain claim files and follow departmental reporting procedures.Report risk reviews to the Underwriting department.Participate in training and continuing education courses as requested or required.Prepare estimates on property lossesQualifications:Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, Agriculture Business or related fieldValid driver's licenseProficiency in basic computer skills, including typing and working in window based software programsAbility to work well with others and become part of a teamAbility to multi-task and make sound decisions under pressureExcellent customer service, oral and written communication skillsRelated claims handling experience
