Job description
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe operate in and around Chicago Illinois. All intermodal containers. 40ft and 20ft containers. Most of our work is drop and hook. Dedicated lanes. We are willing to teach new intermodal drivers to navigate in and out of the rail yards of Chicago. We have our own yard with mechanics on site. Our hours are from 7 to 5 pm every day. Most days we finish early. Contact us if you're interested. Phone call is best. The owner of the company is a driver also.
Responsibilities
Operate commercial trucks to transport cargo efficiently and safely
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and functionality
Comply with all federal, state, and local safety regulations
Interact professionally with customers during deliveries and pickups
Secure loads properly to prevent damage and ensure safety during transit
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of commercial truck driving experience
Proficient in defensive driving techniques
Strong route navigation skills
Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and compliance
Experience performing vehicle inspections
Excellent time management abilities
Effective communication skills
Ability to solve problems independently during transit
