Clerical Assistant 2As a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Department of Environmental Protection, California District Mining Office, you support essential environmental programs that keep operations running efficiently. This position offers a meaningful way to build your skills while helping staff complete important work. You can help maintain clear records and make sure information is processed correctly. Be part of a team committed to protecting land, water, and public safety.This role provides clerical support for multiple environmental protection programs by preparing documents, maintaining records, and organizing information. It helps ensure accurate processing, strong communication, and smooth daily operations. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:Document Processing: Type correspondence, reports and statistical materials and review work for accuracyCase Logging: Record water loss, damage claims and other information in BUMIS and track updates in spreadsheetsData Entry: Enter notes, updates and notifications into required systems and maintain accurate recordsVisitor Assistance: Greet office visitors, answer calls and direct individuals to appropriate staffMail Handling: Sort, prepare and log incoming and outgoing mail and monitor postage levelsPublic Transactions: Prepare invoices, issue receipts and assist the public with test kits and map purchasesInterested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.Work hours are 8:00AM to 4:00PM, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Coal Center, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); orGraduation from high school; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:You must meet the PA residency requirement.
