THE POSITION
Join the Department of Health as a Clerical Assistant 2 and support the important work of the Bureau of Health Statistics and Registries. This role gives you the chance to help manage vital information that affects communities across the state. Your attention to detail will help keep essential records organized and accurate. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position provides clerical support for the Special Services Section by helping collect, organize, and process Vital Events data. The work focuses on maintaining accurate records, supporting staff, and ensuring smooth daily operations. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
Document Processing: Scan, upload, and index Vital Events documents to support accurate record management
Task Prioritization: Recognize and route incoming documentation based on operational and regulatory needs
File Management: Prepare and organize physical files and ensure all documents are sent to the central filing area
Data Tracking: Maintain tracking logs for incoming mail to support proper filing and documentation flow
Electronic Entry: Enter and update information in eVitals, Adobe Pro, SharePoint, and other registry systems
Registry Support: Provide data entry and document support for multiple registry products with strong attention to detail

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Graduation from high school; o r
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
