THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 who enjoys keeping office operations organized and on track. In this role, you will support staff at SCI Cambridge Springs by handling calls, preparing documents, and keeping daily tasks moving smoothly. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role provides clerical and communication support to ensure smooth office operations across the institution.

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

Phone Support: Answer, make, and direct calls while recording and distributing messages

Mail Handling: Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail and packages

Document Processing: Type, review, correct, and distribute documents and correspondence

Scheduling Assistance: Organize appointments, meetings, and video conferences; distribute meeting minutes

Record Maintenance: Maintain filing systems, databases, reports, and spreadsheets

Office Coordination: Compile office activity records, check data, track supplies, and support general office tasks

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.

Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or

Graduation from high school; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
