Clerical AssistantSt. Catherine of Siena Hospital is a proud member of Catholic Health and has served the residents of the Smithtown area for more than 50 years. The campus is comprised of 296-bed not-for-profit community hospital; a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation care center; and a 60,000 square foot medical office building. We work collaboratively to provide compassionate care and utilize evidence based practice to improve outcomes – to every patient, every time.Clerical Assistant Responsibilities:Meeting, greeting, and orienting patients to floorAnswering questions from patients and/or family members or redirects to appropriate care team member for responseTranscribes orders; prepares pt. chart on admission; ensures that chart is maintained appropriately; dismantles chart upon discharge; prepares diet & census sheets; rewrites medex' once a week; prepares venipuncture list; assists in coordinating and compiling statistics as needed Performs patient and specimen transport dutiesAssists the care team with the discharge processAnswers telephones in a professional manner; distributes mailQualifications:High School diploma or GED equivalent requiredMinimum of 1 year previous experience in a doctor's office or health care facilityMust be computer literate and proficient in word processing. Medical terminology preferredPosted Salary RangeUSD $25.18 - USD $25.18 /Hr.The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job, and it does not include the value of benefits.At Catholic Health, we believe in a people-first approach.
