nJob Functions / Responsibilities
nnnPrepares and installs a heavy-duty vehicle for climatic chassis dynamometer test.
n
nnDrives the truck on the chassis dynamometer; must be capable of operating a class 8 heavy truck running a simulated route. CDL license preferred, but not required.
n
nnTroubleshoot test vehicle issues that affect operation of the truck on the chassis dynamometer.
n
nnMaintain organized project documentation - communicates activity, status and issues in a timely fashion.
n
nnRun vehicle tests and maintain test section conditions using CCD control software.
n
nnInstall and program data acquisition equipment.
n
nnCollect, monitor, and post-process test data.
n
nnDevelop specialized test equipment as needed.
n
nnOperate engine monitoring software such as ATI and Canalyzer.
n
nnTroubleshoot, maintain and repair chassis dynamometer test cell equipment under direction.
n
nnMaintain the highest level of work area cleanliness and organization.
n
nnPerform duties safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.

n nQualifications
nnn5+ years of relevant work experience with excellent mechanical aptitude
n
nnProficient in troubleshooting vehicle issues, (powertrain and powertrain electronics)
n
nnGood computer skills
n
nnMust be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
n
nnAbility to manage personal workload and willingness, flexibility, and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands
n
nnMust be capable of operating a heavy-duty commercial vehicle on the chassis dynamometer
n
n nEducation
nAssociate in Technical Arts degree in Diesel Power Technology or equivalent
