Scope of Position
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute's (OSUCCC-James) mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in their own plan of care, and reducing the length of hospitalization, the clinic nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.
Position Summary
The Clinic Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and their family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Clinic Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
Required Qualifications
Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit.
Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
The unit provides specialized inpatient oncology care for patients undergoing chemotherapy and treatment for complex cancer diagnoses. As part of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, the unit delivers evidence-based, multidisciplinary care focused on patient safety, treatment excellence, and compassionate support. Nurses and healthcare professionals collaborate closely with oncology physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and support services to manage chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and specialized cancer care while advancing the organization's mission of improving lives through innovation in research, education, and patient care.
