PURPOSE STATEMENT
Responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation by following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.

Responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation by following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.
Essential Functions
Obtain patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality. Obtains and documents health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors and assesses disease condition.
Execute prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administer prescribed medications, and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response.
Delegate as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act. Refers to/consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns. Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
Document patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.
Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes. Tracks quality assurance data and monitors for acute and chronic care management.
Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results.
Respond to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Perform other essential duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
Currently licensed to practice as a professional Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri or eligible to practice as a graduate nurse in the State of Missouri.
Current AHA or Red Cross BLS required.
Current ACLS preferred.
Minimum of one-year professional nursing experience, clinic experience preferred.
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.
Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.
Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing.
Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces.
