Summary

Supports the university's efforts related to planning, development, and implementation of trainings, referral pathways and supporting triage, crisis intervention and case management. This position is a one-year appointment funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Garrett Lee Smith (GLS) Campus Suicide Prevention Grant.

Essential Job Functions

Supports the development and management of the advisory council who will work to identify gaps in student mental health services, education, information and communication

Builds, expands and sustains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen available student referral networks for mental health and substance abuse

Collaborates with the university clinical team to provide student support through case management, triage and crisis intervention

Collaborates with the project director to engage community-based providers and develop formal student referral pathways

Serves as the primary program liaison supporting various internal and external meetings, as well as interactions with students, referral organizations and others, as appropriate

Collaborates with other university departments to maintain an understanding of internal student referral procedures in an effort to refer students in distress to the appropriate on-campus resources

Develops, organizes and implements relevant mental health and substance training and educational programming for the campus community to reduce stigma and increase access to care for university students

Organizes and develops social media campaigns surrounding mental health, substance abuse and crisis intervention

Supports the program director with long-term program planning

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications Minimum of a master's degree

Experience working in case management, direct clinical experience, experience working with diverse populations or other related experience

Clinical license in Rhode Island

Compensation: $75,000/annualized
