Description

$85,000 per year to build a program from the ground up. Nao Medical is launching a new outpatient substance use disorder program at our Mineola clinic, and we are looking for an LCSW to lead it. The role is a 50/50 blend of clinical practice and program leadership: set the clinical direction, supervise the team, grow enrollment through community outreach, and carry a psychotherapy caseload, with one day per week supporting our HealthySteps early childhood program in Canarsie. You will report directly to our CEO, work alongside physicians and NPs under the same roof, and use AI copilots so documentation never crowds out patient care.

About Nao Medical

Nao Medical is a physician-led primary and urgent care group with 12 clinics across New York City and Long Island. We combine primary care, urgent care, behavioral health, and pediatrics under one roof, backed by modern telehealth and AI-powered tools that keep providers focused on patients instead of paperwork. Our new outpatient substance use disorder program in Mineola is the next step in bringing whole-person care to the communities we serve.

Why You'll Love This Role

Build role, not a backfill. You design the workflows, standards, and service model, then grow the team as the program scales.

Direct line to leadership. Report to the CEO and partner with clinical and operational leaders who want your input.

Clinical work stays in the mix. Half your week is psychotherapy and assessment.

Integrated care under one roof. Prescribers, primary care providers, and care coordinators are colleagues, not phone tags.

Less admin, more impact. AI copilots and digital tools handle documentation, reporting, and audit prep.

Lead and develop a team. Supervise CASAC counselors, peer recovery advocates, and social workers working toward independent licensure.

Supportive, stigma-free team committed to harm reduction and evidence-based recovery care.

$85,000 per year

Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage

Complimentary $50,000 Life and AD&D insurance

Free and discounted care for you and your dependents at any Nao Medical clinic

401(k) with company match

Paid time off and paid leave

Paid HealthySteps training and ongoing program supervision

What You'll Do

Clinical Practice: Biopsychosocial assessments, level-of-care determinations, and individual psychotherapy using CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, and harm reduction, plus crisis intervention and MAT coordination.

Program Leadership: Set clinical direction, build workflows and documentation systems, and track enrollment, engagement, retention, and outcomes.

Supervision: Clinical and administrative supervision, case review, and coaching for CASAC staff, peer advocates, and social workers pursuing licensure.

Community Outreach: Build and track referral pipelines with schools, justice-involved settings, and community partners.

Care Coordination: Own each care plan from intake through closure, screen for social determinants of health, and connect patients to housing, transportation, food, vocational, and mutual aid resources.

HealthySteps (Canarsie): One day per week, conduct psychosocial assessments for children ages 0 to 3 and their caregivers during well-child visits. Assessment only, not pediatric therapy.

Documentation and Compliance: Maintain EMR documentation that meets program standards and 42 CFR Part 2, and support utilization review and audit readiness.

Team Collaboration: Partner with physicians, NPs, and care coordinators to integrate behavioral health with primary care.
