CLINICAL GENETICIST JOB OPPORTUNITY
The Division of Medical Genetics and Genomics at Albany Medical College is searching for a Clinical Geneticist. This position is an excellent opportunity for professional career growth and advancement in a reputable medical genetics program at Albany Medical College.
The selected candidate will be involved in clinical, research, and educational activities of the Division, which articulate with other specialties at the department of pediatrics and Department of OB/GYN-Maternal Fetal Medicine.
QUALIFICATIONS
Individual must be an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. and board certified or eligible in Clinical Genetics. Board certification/eligibility or experience in clinical molecular genetics is a plus.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Large variety of clinical activities including adult and pediatric patient care in General Genetics/Dysmorphology, Prenatal Genetics, Cancer Genetics, pharmacogenetics, inborn errors of metabolism, and newborn screening follow-up program.
Inpatient hospital consults and outpatient clinics.
Clinical support from division chief, a clinical geneticist/cytogeneticist, and Medical Genetics Faculty, including a Medical Biochemical Geneticist (metabolic disorders), four genetic counselors, a genetic NP, a genetic PA, a genetic RN, and a dietician.
Teaching opportunities, and potential for clinical research.
Excellent pediatric subspecialties support.
COMPENSATION
Competitive income, excellent benefits. This is an employed position where you will receive a great compensation package and a sign‑on bonus. You will also be provided with medical/dental/vision benefits, relocation assistance, a retirement plan, and malpractice insurance.
Competitive base salary range for Assistant Professor $184,550–$204,550. Additional rank to be determined based on experience.
Salary for faculty with higher ranking will be discussed commensurate with experience.
This will be a tenured faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience, and a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty and graduate student population.
The start date for this position is contingent upon having a valid NY state medical license.
