Medical Assistant PositionAcademic Alliance in Dermatology is hiring a Medical Assistant for our Sarasota clinic. This position supports both medical and cosmetic dermatology services and works closely with the provider throughout the day to keep clinic flow running smoothly.This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in patient care, procedures, and clinical coordination. Candidates with experience in any medical setting are encouraged to apply. Dermatology experience is a plus, but not required.Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMResponsibilitiesRoom patients, take vitals, and document medical history using EMA (EMR system)Assist the provider during procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and other in-office treatmentsPrepare exam rooms and procedure trays based on daily schedules and provider preferenceApply numbing agents and support patients through proceduresLabel and process specimens for lab and pathology, ensuring accuracy and proper routingHelp maintain clinic flow by keeping patients moving through their visits efficientlyScribe and assist with documentation during patient visits as neededHandle patient communication including calls, messages, and follow-upsMonitor inventory, restock supplies, and remove expired materialsClean and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocolsFollow up with patients regarding results and next steps per provider directionWhat We're Looking ForExperience working as a Medical Assistant, CNA, PCT, or similar clinical roleComfortable in a patient-facing environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to stay organized throughout the dayBasic understanding of medical terminologyExperience using an EMR systemAbility to assist with injections or minor proceduresStrong communication skills and professionalism with patientsPreferred (Not Required)Dermatology experienceCompletion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant healthcare trainingPre-med or pre-PA backgroundBilingual in English & SpanishWork Environment & Physical RequirementsStanding and moving throughout the clinic for most of the dayFrequent bending, reaching, and handling clinical suppliesExposure to a medical environment including sharps and biohazard materialsAbility to lift up to 30 lbs as neededBenefits (Full-Time)Medical, dental, and vision insurance (effective first of the month after hire)Short-term and long-term disability coverageLife insurance and additional voluntary benefitsPaid time off and paid holidaysRetirement savings optionsEmployee discounts on cosmetic services and productsAbout Anne Arundel DermatologyWith over 50 years of experience, Anne Arundel Dermatology provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology care.
