Clinical Office AssistantSt. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Office Assistant for our Cardiology clinic within the Heart and Vascular Institute in Edgewood. Shift/Hours: Full-Time – 40 hours/week, First Shift. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required!The Clinical Office Assistant provides customer-focused service and support to patient flow in a unit based. This position may be responsible for a variety of duties based on the operations of department, including:Patient registrationPatient schedulingPatient billingAssisting with pre-certification if applicable (collect insurance information; receipt of co-pays or bill payments)Medical records retrieval, release, or collectionData entryAnswering phonesResponsible for routine problem resolution, assistance with patient flow coordination, and initiation of follow-up with appropriate staff as needed. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy and confidentiality, i.e., HIPAA laws.Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.Qualifications:Education, Credentials, Licenses:High school graduate or GEDSpecialized Knowledge:Medical terminologyComputer fluency/literacyCommunication skills (verbal and written)Maintain patient confidentialityOrganization and prioritization skillsKind and Length of Experience:1 year of experience in an office front desk type role, healthcare registration, scheduling or other patient-facing healthcare positions.FLSA Status:Non-ExemptRight Career.
