Job description
An opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist specializing in Long Term Care to support skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care. This contract role requires a dedicated professional to ensure the accuracy and safety of medication management across multiple care settings.
Location: Gibsonia, Pennsylvania
Contract Duration: 1 month with possible extension
Schedule/Hours:
40 hours per week
Pharmacy hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Sunday 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Key Responsibilities: Review and verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for accuracy and compliance
Inspect blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations
Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance and answering medication-related questions
Manage controlled substances by counting and documenting in perpetual inventory records
Check and maintain emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
Active pharmacist license in good standing with the state of Pennsylvania
Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; Long Term Care experience preferred
Physical ability to sit, stand, and perform fine motor tasks with good visual acuity; capable of lifting up to 30 pounds
Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC is essential for this position.
