Job description
An experienced clinical pharmacist is needed to support patient care in a hospital setting located in Glenwood Springs, CO. This contract role offers a rotating schedule with 40 hours per week, including early morning and weekend shifts. The assignment starts as soon as possible with a projected end date of 8/15/26.
Location:
Glenwood Springs, CO
Schedule: Rotating day/evening shifts, Monday through Friday starting at either 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM
Rotating weekends working 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and dispense medication orders as requested by physicians
Maintain medication stock within patient care areas
Ensure safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication therapies adhering to established protocols
Interpret medication orders and maintain computerized medication profiles
Compound and dispense pharmaceutical products, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy
Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, and dose appropriateness
Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and antibiotic stewardship
Provide clinical consultations and alternative therapeutic recommendations
Document all clinical activities accurately
Participate in quality improvement and educational programs
Serve as a member of the Code Response Team
Qualifications: Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing
Graduate from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
Required flu vaccination during flu season (October 1-April 1), no exemptions allowed
Must have Epic electronic medical records experience; Meditech training is a plus for the facility's EMR conversion period
