Job description
A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a 200+ bed community hospital in Alexandria, LA. This contract assignment offers a dynamic work environment supporting quality patient care in a busy hospital setting. The assignment is set to begin as soon as possible for 13 weeks.
Schedule:
Four 10-hour shifts per week
Rotating shifts, which could range from 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM - 11:00 PM
Every other weekend rotation
Responsibilities: Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently while ensuring patient safety
Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow and compliance
Collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize pharmacotherapy plans
Conduct pharmacokinetic monitoring and dose adjustments as needed
Utilize hospital information systems including EPIC and Pyxis for medication management and documentation
Desired Qualifications: Licensed pharmacist with clinical experience in a hospital setting
Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations and protocols
Experience with order verification and pharmacy technician supervision
Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems
Effective communication skills for multidisciplinary team collaboration
Ability to manage rotating shifts and variable schedules
