Job description
A contract opportunity is available for a Long Term Care Clinical Pharmacist based in Chicora, PA. This assignment is initially for one month with the potential for extension. The position requires a dedication of 40 hours per week, supporting pharmacy operations both during weekdays and weekends.
Schedule/Hours:
Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Sunday: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Key Responsibilities: Review and verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.
Conduct thorough checks of packaged medications, including blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile products.
Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance.
Perform controlled substance counts and maintain accurate perpetual inventory documentation.
Inspect and verify emergency medication boxes to ensure compliance and readiness.
Desired Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, with a clean professional record.
Minimum of one year pharmacist experience; previous Long Term Care (LTC) experience strongly preferred.
Ability to perform duties requiring sitting, standing, good fine motor skills, and visual acuity.
Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.
