This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 and relocation reimbursement up to $5,000

nThe Clinical Pharmacist - Inpatient supports Mercy's 24/7 pharmacy operations, providing both operational and, as opportunities arise, decentralized clinical pharmacy services. Responsibilities include medication order verification, prescription fill verification, renal dose monitoring, and supporting IV room operations and medication automation systems. The pharmacist also performs compounding activities and collaborates with the onsite infusion center and oncology team to support safe and effective medication therapy.

nA caregiver in this position will work a combination of day and evening shifts, with approximately 60% of shifts on days and 40% on evenings. Day shifts are 6:00am to 3:30pm, while evening shifts are 2:00pm to 12:00am. Caregivers participate in an every third weekend rotation and work approximately three holidays per year.

nA caregiver who excels in this role will:

nnnProvide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.

n

nnVerify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.

n

nnDocument services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.

n

nnEnsure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.

n

nnMaintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.

n

nnEducate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.

n

n nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

nnnPharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.

n

nnCurrent state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire.

n

nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days (for individuals required to administer immunizations). 

n

nnCurrent Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - For caregivers required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest, this is required within one year of hire.

n

n nPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

nnnBoard certification.

n

nnCompletion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred.

n

nnPost-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area

n

n nPhysical Requirements :

nnnTypical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.

n

nnManual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

n

nnPosition often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.

n

nnMust have normal or corrected vision.

n

nnMust have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person

n

n nPersonal Protective Equipment :

nnFollows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

n nPay Range

nMinimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00

nMaximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00

nThe pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
