Job description
A healthcare facility in the Los Angeles area is seeking a skilled Clinical Pharmacist to provide essential support during a period of short staffing. This contract role offers variability in weekly hours, ranging from approximately 16 to 40 hours, and requires a candidate who can adapt to fluctuating schedules with flexibility and professionalism.
Responsibilities include order verification, supervising and supporting pharmacy technicians, collaborating closely with nursing and medical staff, and managing pharmacokinetics to optimize patient care. The position involves working primarily during day and afternoon shifts with possible floating assignments to nearby sister hospitals within a 10-15 mile radius of Norwalk, CA.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Must hold a valid pharmacist license.
Experience with order entry systems, specifically Paragon and Allscripts.
Familiarity with Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
Capability to perform medication order verification and pharmacokinetic assessments.
Strong communication skills for effective multidisciplinary consultation.
Flexibility to work varying hours and float between multiple hospital sites.
Location: Based in Norwalk, California.
Potential assignments within a 10-15 mile radius at affiliated hospitals.

Contract duration initially booked for 8 weeks with a month-to-month extension possible.
