Job description
This opportunity calls for an experienced clinical pharmacist specialized in behavioral health to support hospital pharmacy operations in a focused psychiatric setting. The position is based in Summit, MS, and offers an engaging contract role starting immediately through June 13th.
Responsibilities include verifying medication orders and conducting essential control checks to ensure pharmacy accuracy and compliance. As the sole pharmacist on site, you will have the autonomy to manage daily pharmacy functions with supportive pharmacy technicians available to assist. The hospital pharmacy operates Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no weekend hours required.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and check medication orders accurately and efficiently
Perform control audits to maintain pharmacy integrity and patient safety
Collaborate with pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth pharmacy workflow
Maintain documentation and compliance within the medDispense and Azalea Health (EHR) systems
Support pharmacy operations within a behavioral health environment
Desired Qualifications and Experience: Licensure as a pharmacist with clinical experience preferred
Prior experience in hospital or behavioral health pharmacy settings strongly desired
Familiarity with medDispense and Azalea Health electronic health record systems is a plus
Ability to work independently as a solo pharmacist with confidence and professionalism
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
