Job description
A Clinical Pharmacist opportunity is available for inpatient pharmacy services in Sylmar, CA. This role involves supporting hospital medication management, ensuring accurate dispensing, and collaborating closely with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. Type: Contract with potential for long-term placement
Schedule:
8-hour shifts
Flexible to work primarily 1st and 2nd shifts with occasional 3rd shifts
Responsibilities:
Manage inpatient medication distribution and ensure safe, effective drug therapy
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide clinical pharmacy services
Review and verify medication orders, monitor patient responses, and adjust therapies as necessary
Participate in pharmacist-led patient education and counseling
Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and hospital policies
Desired Qualifications:
PGY1 residency preferred or around 2 years of current inpatient pharmacy experience
Candidates without PGY1 who have some hospital experience, even at the intern level, may be considered
Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team
Flexibility to work varied shifts including first, second, and occasional third shifts
Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety
