These values - integrity, patient-centered, respect, accountability, and compassion - must guide what we do, as individuals and professionals, every day.The Clinical Social Worker I is a licensed, experienced professional who is the clinical expert in the assessment and treatment of patients, families and social work consultation to the interdisciplinary teams in a variety of inpatient and ambulatory settings in the Yale New Haven Health System. As the clinical expert, the scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, diagnostic assessment, counseling, psychotherapy, brief treatment, crisis intervention, mental health consultation, teaching/mentoring, and/or other project/task force participation as assigned by supervisor. The clinical social worker will work collaboratively with members of the health care teams throughout the organization.ResponsibilitiesLicensed Social Work Clinical PracticeInteract professionally and with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial and ethnic backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities.Professional DevelopmentMaintain and enhance knowledge base and skill set through educational opportunities and meet expectations set forth by State licensure, Hospital and departmental standards.QualificationsEducation: Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work.Experience: For Connecticut, consistent with LCSW licensure requirements, 3,000 hours of post-masters social work experience and 100 hours of post-masters clinical supervision. For Rhode Island, consistent with LICSW licensure requirements, 24 months of experience licensed as a licensed clinical social worker under appropriate supervision.Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from the State of Connecticut, or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) from the State of Rhode Island, or those holding licenses from other states, will need an 'endorsement' and meet the State of Connecticut or State of Rhode Island license requirements.Special Skills: The Social Worker will possess the following special skills: empathy, active listening, critical thinking, strong organizational and computer skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with and advocate for patients and families.Additional InformationLCSW required. Four days, 6-hour shifts, or, three days, 8-hour shifts.Experience working with children and families in a clinical capacity; especially working with life-threatening conditions, chronic disease, hospice and/or end-of-life care, and bereavement preferred.Provide skilled assessment and intervention for children with chronic, complex and/or life-threatening conditions and their families.Participate in conflict management, bereavement care planning and support, and training and education.YNHHS Requisition ID
