Job description

Clinical Speech Language Pathologist

Transform Lives through Communication in Beautiful Long Beach, California – Join Us

Imagine being the voice of purpose in someone's life — both literally and figuratively. As a Clinical Speech Language Pathologist situated in one of California's dynamic coastal cities, you'll embark on a rewarding journey that goes beyond simply treating communication and swallowing challenges. Your expertise will be the key to unlocking potential, instilling confidence, and fostering deep connections, whether it's a child speaking their very first words or an elder regaining their ability to share their stories.

This role offers a distinctive chance to make a meaningful impact on individuals of all ages in a blended setting of outpatient therapy and occasional inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in pediatric speech development, adult neurogenic communication rehabilitation, or cognitive-linguistic therapy for seniors, there's ample opportunity for professional satisfaction and adaptable working conditions.

Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing a variety of standardized assessments and observational approaches.

Create tailored treatment plans that cater to both short-term objectives and long-term communication or swallowing aspirations.

Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions, emphasizing communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and dysphagia.

Engage with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to formulate integrated care strategies.

Provide education and resources to patients and their families to support their progress outside the clinical environment.

Assist with sporadic inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout treatment.

Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation in compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in the discipline through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Mastery of evidence-based therapy practices for all age groups and a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional interpersonal skills for effectively engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Ability to modify therapy methods to accommodate a wide spectrum of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Strong clinical insight and problem-solving aptitude.

Proficient in using electronic medical records and adhering to documentation guidelines.

Attractive salary aligned with experience.

Flexible work schedules promoting work-life harmony and varied caseloads.

Opportunities for specialization, whether in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.

Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.

Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance choices.

Support for continuing education and career advancement.

A collaborative, team-driven environment focused on quality patient care and lifelong learning.

In this position, you will not merely offer speech therapy; you'll join a mission dedicated to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and fostering joy through understanding. Here, you'll collaborate with a dedicated team that treats one another with familial respect, within a space that champions cooperation over competition. Each patient brings a narrative; we're excited to have you help narrate it.

Life in Long Beach offers a unique fusion of captivating ocean views and vibrant urban culture. This coastal treasure is alive with the sounds of laughter and waves, creating an ideal blend for those who love a bit of adventure and laid-back living. The city is a hub for arts, music, and a culinary scene that tantalizes with flavors from around the globe.

Outdoor enthusiasts can relish endless sunshine and stunning beaches, where water sports abound and coastal trails provide a perfect backdrop for hiking or biking. Families enjoy weekends filled with oceanfront picnics or visiting local farmers' markets offering fresh produce and artisanal goods.

The community exudes a creative spirit, visible in colorful murals, local music at various venues, and festivals that draw crowds of diverse backgrounds together. For professionals, the draw is enhanced by a favorable tax environment and an evolving healthcare sector, which together foster an atmosphere where career ambitions can thrive.

Whether you're a newcomer to the field or an experienced professional seeking new horizons, Long Beach offers the perfect setting for personal and professional blossoming.

We are on the lookout for a devoted Speech Language Pathologist who is driven by compassion as much as by results. Someone who can look at a withdrawn child and foresee a future filled with self-expression or hear the faltering speech of a stroke survivor and recognize resilience.

If you are ready to lead with your heart and serve with your skills, we look forward to embracing you as part of our family.

Join our community that cherishes communication, connection, and the bravery needed to start anew. Come aboard to provide your unique voice to our team and assist others in reclaiming theirs.
