nTrinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant to support our providers in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you'll work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, support care coordination, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.
nWhat You'll Do:
nnnWelcome and prepare patients for appointments.
n
nnCollect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
n
nnAssist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
n
nnAdminister medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
n
nnCommunicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
n
nnProvide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
n
nnCoordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
n
nnSupport quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
n
n nGeneral Requirements:
nEDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved:
nnnMA program and MA Externship;
n
nnMA Internship;
n
nnEmergency Medical Technician (EMT) program;
n
nnParamedic program; or
n
nnCertified Athletic Trainer.
n
n nIf credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.
nCREDENTIALS/LICENSURE:
nMA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan, or Paramedic following successful completion of the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holds a current/active license in the State of Michigan. Valid CPR certification.
nMA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:
nnnAmerican Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
n
nnAmerican Medical Technologists (RMA)
n
nnNational Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
n
nnNational Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
n
nnNational Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
n
nnAmerican Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
n
n nMINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 0-1 year previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years' clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.
