NALEJ is hiring a Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support the reliability, security, and scalability of our AWS-hosted infrastructure. This role blends DevOps, SRE, and cloud engineering to ensure production systems meet mission-critical demands and compliance standards. You’ll work hands‑on with Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines, collaborating closely with engineering and security teams.

Location: Remote (occasional in office in D.C.)
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship Required
Clearance Requirement: Active or Interim DoD Security Clearance
Certification Requirement: IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, SSCP, or CCNA Security)
Travel: Occasional
On-Call: Yes (shared rotation)
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure (EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC, ECR) using Terraform.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability using Prometheus and Grafana.
Enforce DoD compliance policies and infrastructure security controls.
Troubleshoot and optimize Kubernetes workloads in EKS.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and manage state with GitOps workflows.
Participate in on-call support and maintain detailed run books.
Collaborate with development teams to promote DevSecOps practices.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship
Active or Interim DoD Security Clearance
IAT Level II Certification (Security+, SSCP, or CCNA Security)
3+ years experience with AWS and Terraform
Kubernetes experience (EKS preferred)
Strong Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python, Go)
Networking, VPC, IAM, and security best practices
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Argo, Ansible, Helm, and GitOps
Familiarity with DoD STIGs or FedRAMP environments
Knowledge of secure ingress/auth (SAML/OIDC)
Background with secure or air-gapped AWS deployments
