Job description
Certified Medical AssistantUnder the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager performs selected patient-care tasks for patients of all ages, gender, cultures, and backgrounds in the clinic setting. In addition, laboratory and office duties are performed as needed. This position has no supervisory responsibility.Performance standards include demonstrating and supporting service excellence, meeting manager requests and committee responsibilities, showing commitment to career growth and competence, meeting personal performance summary standards, attending unit/staff meetings, accurate data entry, compliance with patient confidentiality, and competence in specific computer applications.Minimum qualifications include successful completion of medical assistant education with a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program and certification with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), or National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA) within 6 months of hire. Current CMA certification with the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), or National Healthcareer Association (CCMA) and completion of a medical assistant education program approved by Broadlawns Medical Center are also acceptable.
