CMM Programmer/Operator – Fort Wayne, INPrecision Matters—Down to 0.0002 InchIf you know PC-DMIS, understand GD&T, and can independently program and operate a CMM, this is an opportunity to work on challenging, high-precision components without being buried in repetitive production work.We're seeking an experienced CMM Programmer/Operator for a growing precision machine shop specializing in automation equipment and low-volume components for aerospace and other demanding industries. You'll inspect complex machined parts, troubleshoot dimensional issues, and work directly with machinists, toolmakers, and engineers to maintain exceptional quality standards.Compensation & Schedule$35–$40 per hour, based on experienceFirst shiftFlexible work scheduleFull-time positionBenefitsEmployee health insurance fully paid by the companyHSA health plan option401(k) with company profit-sharing contributionsCompetitive PTO—up to four weeksSeven personal or sick daysLife insuranceShort- and long-term disabilityWhat You'll DoProgram, set up, and operate a 2020 Hexagon Global S Green CMMDevelop and run inspection programs using PC-DMISOperate a Hexagon Absolute Arm and Hexagon Optiv optical CMMInspect high-precision, low-volume machined componentsRead and interpret blueprints, specifications, job orders, and GD&T calloutsVerify tight dimensional tolerances of 0.0002 inch or lessPerform inspections using comparators, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other manual inspection toolsCommunicate out-of-tolerance conditions to machinists and toolmakersCollaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality personnel to resolve dimensional issuesInspect completed parts for quality and machining accuracyCalibrate inspection equipment or verify current calibrationAdjust inspection setups and processes to ensure accurate, efficient resultsWhat You'll NeedAt least five years of related dimensional inspection experienceExperience programming, setting up, and independently operating CMM equipmentWorking knowledge of PC-DMIS softwareStrong blueprint-reading and GD&T interpretation skillsExperience inspecting tight-tolerance machined componentsProficiency with manual precision measurement toolsAbility to identify, document, and communicate quality issuesStrong attention to detail and problem-solving abilityAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to lift up to 50 poundsExperience That Will Help You Stand OutExperience inspecting aerospace componentsFamiliarity with steel, stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and exotic materialsExperience with Hexagon CMM, Absolute Arm, or Optiv equipmentStrong mechanical aptitudeBackground in low-volume, high-precision machiningIf "close enough" has never been part of your vocabulary, this could be the shop for you.
