Quality InspectorL.A. Gauge Company "American Precision at Its Best"For 65 years, L.A. Gauge Company has set the standard for ultraprecision machining and optics, delivering the most reliable, complex, and mission-critical hardware for the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries. We routinely hold machining tolerances of 40 millionths of an inch and achieve optical flatness to the 20th wave.Fueled by rapid growth, we continue to expand our operations and capabilities. We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Quality Inspector to help optimize production, drive innovation, and take our performance to the next level.This position plays a key role in ensuring every product leaving our facility meets exacting quality expectations. You'll be involved in hands-on inspections, using a variety of tools and techniques to confirm accuracy and spot potential issues before they reach the customer. The role requires close collaboration with the production team, a sharp eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining the high standards our customers depend on.RequirementsFollow and complete day inspection runs (this will include first articles & final inspection runs)Efficiently perform visual In Process & Final Inspection to verify specifications, assessing for defects, scratches, and depth of damage, using ZEISS CMM machines and Manual CMM QC 500 (+) as needed.Professionally communicate any component deviationsSelect and utilize the most suitable measuring device to ensure accuracy and efficiency for each specific taskCommunicate effectively to foster strong, collaborative professional relationships with colleaguesOther duties as assignedSkill RequirementsMinimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturingKnowledge of manual machines, lathes, bridgeports grindersAbility to read blueprintsUnderstanding machine shop terminologyAble to use and understand machinist's tools EX: micrometers, calipers, indicators etc.Familiarity with Microsoft SuiteMust be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 30 poundsAble to squat, kneel; step up and down on a regular basisCompliance with safety standards and policiesPerform other tasks as assignedSuccess FactorsAttention to detailAbility to work independently and with others in a team environmentPositive can-do attitudeEnthusiasm and self-motivationWhat We OfferMedical, Dental and Vision Coverage401kLife and AD&D InsuranceGenerous Time Off - Two Weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) and 11 Paid HolidaysEmployee Appreciation EventsShift DifferentialWe are an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer, committed to building an inclusive workplace that values diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
