nResponsibilities
nWhat You’ll Do as CNA with Elderwood:
nnnAssist residents with activities of daily living based on individual needs and plans of care
n
nnSupport bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, mobility, positioning, and other personal-care needs
n
nnRespond promptly and respectfully to resident requests
n
nnObserve residents closely and report changes in condition, behavior, comfort, appetite, mobility, or daily functioning to the nurse
n
nnSupport rehabilitation and mobility goals as directed by the care team
n
nnHelp maintain a clean, safe, comfortable, and respectful resident environment
n
nnCommunicate clearly with nurses, rehabilitation professionals, residents, families, and fellow CNAs
n
nnFollow infection-prevention, safety, documentation, and resident-rights requirements
n
nnContribute to a team culture built on mutual respect, reliability, communication, and accountability
n
n nQualifications
nWhat You’ll Need as a CNA with Elderwood:
nnnCurrent registration on the New York State Nurse Aide Registry, with no findings or convictions involving resident abuse, mistreatment, neglect, or misappropriation of property
n
nnMust be at least 17 years old
n
nnEmployment certificate or permit if 17 years old
n
nnHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred
n
nnPrevious training or work experience in a geriatric setting preferred
n
nnA caring, patient, and respectful approach to residents
n
nnAbility to communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors
n
nnAbility to work collaboratively and follow established plans of care and clinical direction
n
nnPhysical stamina for an active, hands-on resident-care position
n
nnAbility to read, write, speak, and understand English at the level necessary for safe care and effective workplace communication
n
