Job description
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AMThe Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential nursing care to both acute and non-acute residents while maintaining a safe and clean environment. This role requires the ability to react calmly and make sound judgments in various situations, especially during emergencies. Regular lifting of non-ambulatory patients is a requirement, and a caring attitude is essential for interacting with residents and their families. The job demands a fast-paced work environment with constant pressure to complete assignments and respond to patient requests.Obtain nursing data through interviewing and observation of residents under the direction of a Licensed Nurse (LN).Document observations and findings, providing general nursing care to adult and geriatric populations, including tasks such as:Bed bathsOral hygieneAssisting with dressingMonitoring and recording vital signs and measurementsCollect and transport specimens and report abnormal findings to the LN.Provide bedside care, which may include:Positioning and lifting residentsAssisting with personal hygiene and mealsChanging bed linens and maintaining a clean environmentAssist the LN with resident transport and preparing necessary documentation.Provide one-on-one care for residents when required for safety.Maintain a safe and clean environment by preparing areas for resident admissions, transfers, or discharges.Replenish supplies in resident rooms and bathrooms as needed.Scope of duties may include specialized tasks such as:Obtaining 12-lead Electrocardiograms (ECGs).Training and performing Telemetry monitoring within the inpatient unit.Cross-training for various hospital departments to ensure fluid staffing.Participating in Performance/Process Improvement projects within the unit.Serving as a preceptor for incoming CNA staff and students.High school diploma or equivalent required.At least one year of prior experience as a CNA is preferred.Current, unrestricted CNA license in the state of Alaska.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Completion of additional courses as needed for unit requirements.This position is available at multiple locations within the region.Client Details Address 232 Wood St City Wrangell State AK Zip Code 99929
