Job description
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)To provide basic nursing care to non-acute and/or acutely ill residents while maintaining a safe and clean environment. Must have the ability to react in a calm and functional manner and make sound judgments within the scope of duties when taking care of ill patients/residents and in the event of emergencies. Job requires lifting of non-ambulatory patients/residents on a regular basis. A caring attitude is necessary when dealing with both acute and non-acute patients/residents and their families on a steady basis. Job pace is rapid, and there is constant pressure to complete nursing assignments and answer patient call lights. Accountability for all actions taken is required. Accept delegation from the supervising licensed nurse. This position is covered under the Indian Child Protection Act. Accountabilities include:Obtaining nursing data through interviewing and observing residents under a licensed nurse's direction.Documenting observation findings that are consistent with other providers under supervision.Providing general nursing care for the adult and geriatric population, which may include bed baths, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing patients, and applying heat and cold therapy.Monitoring and recording vital signs and other health metrics such as temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, blood sugar, and intake-output measurements.Collecting and transporting specimens to the correct departments.Reporting any abnormal findings to the licensed nurse and documenting findings as appropriate.Providing bedside care, including positioning residents, assisting with the use of bedpans, answering call lights, and ambulating residents as needed.Assisting residents with meals or feeding them and caring for residents' belongings.Cleaning and maintaining resident areas, including changing bed linen and straightening rooms as necessary.Assisting the licensed nurse in preparing residents for transport from the department.Providing one-on-one care for residents when indicated for safety.Maintaining a safe and clean environment by preparing nursing areas for resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.Cleaning utility rooms and reporting any equipment malfunctions to personnel.Performing supply duties on a daily basis, distributing and ordering supplies to maintain adequate stock levels in assigned units.Disposing of waste according to organizational policies and procedures.Replenishing supplies in resident rooms and bathrooms as needed.Unit Specialty includes training and performing the mechanics of telemetry monitoring of patients within the unit.Cross-training to various areas of the healthcare facility for staffing fluidity.Initiating and participating in performance/process improvement projects within the unit.Serving as a preceptor for incoming staff and students.We offer competitive benefits, including:Medical, dental & vision insuranceFree and unlimited continuing education units (CEUs)24/7 dedicated Care Line and clinical liaison supportPersonalized career consultant and "single point of contact" serviceIndustry?leading pay rates, loyalty rewards & referral bonusesFree tax return assistance for travelers401(k) Retirement PlanHealth Savings Account (HSA)Disability Insurance (Short-Term and Long-Term)Life and AD&D InsurancePaid Sick Leave (where required by applicable state or local law)Supplemental Insurance PlansIdentity Theft ProtectionPet InsuranceEmployee Wellness ProgramsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Career Growth and Professional Development OpportunitiesDisclaimer: Benefits eligibility, accrual rates, and usage limits may vary based on employment status, length of service, and work location.
