Hourly pay $20 - $24 / per hour

nThe Certified Nursing Assistant/Personal Care Assistant is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the patients’ needs.

nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:

nnnResponsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:

n

nnBathing (sponge bath, shower, tub, shampoo)

n

nnBack rubs

n

nnGrooming (nail filing, hair care, oral hygiene)

n

nnChanging bed linen

n

nnAssisting patients with dressing and undressing

n

nnSkin care to prevent breakdown

n

nnAssisting the patient with toileting activities

n

nnKeeping patient’s living area clean and orderly, as appropriate

n

nnPlans and prepares nutritious meals

n

nnAssists in feeding the patient, if necessary

n

nnTakes and records oral and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)

n

nnAssists with mobility, positioning, transfers, and using transfer/mobility devices as applicable, according to the plan if care

n

nnAssists with active and passive range of motion exercises and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency

n

nnAssists patient in the self-administration of medication

n

nnDoes patient’s laundry, as appropriate

n

nnMeets safety needs of patients, including proper use of equipment (foot stools, side rails, etc.), maintains compliance with Maxim Falls Prevention program, Infection Control program, and patient-specific Emergency Management plan as applicable

n

nnReports patient’s condition and significant changes to the supervising Registered Nurse

n

nnAdherence to Maxim’s documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct

n

nnOther duties as assigned

n

n nMinimum Requirements:

nnnSuccessful completion of a nursing assistant/home health aide or competency training and evaluation program as applicable, per State/Federal regulations

n

nnSuccessful completion of Maxim’s Clinical Competency Program for home health aides, including successful completion of examinations with score of 80% or higher, and demonstration of all required skills per State/Federal regulations

n

nnAbility to read and follow written instructions and document care given

n

nnMeets Maxim and applicable State Background Investigation requirements

n

nnPossession of current CPR certification and First Aid training/certification as applicable, per State regulations

n

nnParticipation in Tuberculosis screening/testing requirements per Maxim policy and as applicable, per State regulation

n

nnSuccessful completion of Maxim’s orientations/trainings, in-service program, and Maxim training examinations, with a score of 80% or greater

n
