CNA I | Certified Nursing Assistant - Med/Step-Down Unit
Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant I, providing essential patient care in a medical/step-down unit within a vibrant regional healthcare setting in the Southeastern United States. This full-time day shift role offers a rewarding opportunity to support patient well-being and contribute to a positive care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or communicating with appropriate staff.
Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated patient care tasks.
Maintain patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
Manage and stock patient care supplies, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
Participate in cost containment efforts and accurate patient service charging.
Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Experience and Skills:
No prior work experience required; on-the-job training provided.
Strong guest relations and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to read and understand English.
Flexibility in work tasks and schedules.
Basic computer proficiency.
Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work variable shifts including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and turning patients.
Visual and auditory acuity necessary for patient observation.
Exposure to blood and body fluids with adherence to safety protocols.
