Job description

Job Summary:
Provides direct personal care and basic nursing duties to patients in a long-term care facility, supporting their daily activities and promoting their well-being. Assists the treatment team by observing, reporting, and implementing patient care procedures as required.
Responsibilities:
Perform basic nursing tasks such as taking vital signs, measuring output, and recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms.
Assist patients with activities of daily living including eating, bathing, dressing, and providing fluids.
Follow established infection control, universal precautions, and body mechanics protocols to ensure patient and staff safety.
Support patient independence through restorative care activities, including use of assistive devices and range of motion exercises.
Document patient observations accurately and communicate findings effectively to the healthcare team.
Maintain respect and compassion towards patients with diverse backgrounds and disabilities.
Qualifications:
Possess at least 6 months of experience in a long-term care or similar healthcare setting.
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers within 6 months of employment.
Demonstrate knowledge of basic nursing skills and medical terminology.
Exhibit excellent observation, communication, and documentation skills.
Show emotional stability, patience, and a respectful attitude toward patients.
Ability to follow both oral and written instructions precisely.
