Certified Nursing AssistantLocation: Salem Health Hospital, 890 Oak Street SE, Salem, Oregon 97301 Position Type: Full Time, 36 hours/weekly, Non-Exempt Schedule: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm, 12-hour shifts, variable scheduled daysYour role with usAs a certified nursing assistant on this unit, you will play a vital role in supporting patients and families by providing high quality care, assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring and reporting patient needs and supporting nurses with tasks. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team including social services, registered dietitians, palliative care and the Salem Health Cancer Center to deliver holistic, patient centered care.What you'll doCompletes personal care on each patient as directed by plan of care, including policies and procedures, without continual direct supervision.Accurately performs skills per policy and procedure.Completes only those skills duties for which competency has been demonstrated basic and advanced skills checklists.Documents pertinent patient information concisely and legibly using acceptable medical terminology and abbreviation on all assigned patients.Assumes additional clerical responsibilities as department needs dictate.Monitors and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team.Supports nurses and healthcare staff in delivering personalized, high-quality care.Maintains a clean, safe, and healing environment for patients and families.Provides emotional support and compassionate care during vulnerable moments.Communicates clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and team members.Required qualificationsCertified in the State of Oregon to practice as a CNA.Current Basic Life Support (BLS).Total rewards packageSalem Health's comprehensive benefits package prioritizes your mental and physical health, financial stability, family obligations, and professional growth.Why Salem Health?Salem Health is a Top Workplace in Oregon, known for fostering a supportive culture where your contributions truly matter.
