CNA/Personal Care Attendant (Center)Region VII Area Agency on Aging/Sunrise PACE is accepting applications for a highly motivated CNA/Personal Care Attendant (Center) for Sunrise PACE. We are a growing non-profit organization and our Sunrise PACE center is in Fort Gratiot (St. Clair County).Purpose of the position: Under the direction and supervision of the Center Manager, the Personal Care Attendant provides personal care services to Sunrise PACE participants in the day health center, as well as other activities and tasks as assigned to assist the primary care, therapy, and adult day health staff. Provides physical assistance and attendant care to enrollees across care settings (center, home, transportation). Provides assistance with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). Provides assistance with nursing care, restorative therapies, activities and meals across care settings. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in assessing, planning care for and providing service to frail elder enrollees according to assigned responsibilities and (PACE Program) standards.Requirements for this position:Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant carePass a criminal background check which will verify that the candidate is: not excluded from participant in Medicare & Medicaid programsHigh school diploma or equivalentCNA certification requiredOne year experience working with the frail or elderly population or, in the absence of such experience, to receive appropriate training from the Sunrise PACE on working w/frail or elderly population upon hireMust pass and maintain annual competencies for roleAbility to perform housekeeping dutiesPossess discretion, tact, patience and good judgement.
