Job Summary
nThe Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) provides direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The CNA assists with personal hygiene, daily living activities, and basic nursing care to ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being. The CNA is responsible for observing and reporting patient conditions, maintaining a clean environment, and promoting continuity and quality of care.
nEssential Functions
nnnAssists patients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, and other daily living activities.
n
nnProvides basic care such as changing linens, assisting with repositioning, and providing mobility support.
n
nnMeasures and records vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, and reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
n
nnDocuments patient care activities accurately and promptly, maintaining confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations.
n
nnSupports patient nutrition by serving meals, assisting with feeding, and monitoring intake and output.
n
nnMaintains patient safety by ensuring the proper use of restraints, following infection control protocols, and implementing fall prevention measures.
n
nnAssists with basic treatments such as applying nonsterile dressings, ice packs, and heat treatments as directed by nursing staff.
n
nnCommunicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure a positive care experience and address patient needs.
n
nnParticipates in ongoing training and education to maintain CNA certification and stay updated on best practices in patient care.
n
nnPerforms other duties as assigned.
n
nnMaintains regular and reliable attendance.
n
nnComplies with all policies and standards.
n
n nQualifications
nnn1-3 years of experience as a CNA required
n
nn3-6 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting preferred
n
n nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
nnnKnowledge of basic nursing care techniques, patient hygiene, and infection control procedures.
n
nnStrong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
n
nnAbility to follow instructions, perform routine tasks, and document care accurately.
n
nnCompassionate and patient-focused, with the ability to provide high-quality care in a skilled nursing environment.
n
n nLicenses and Certifications
nnnCNA - Certified Nursing Assistant in state of employment required

nnBCLS - Basic Life Support requiredINDCS
