Surgical ICU Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing AssistantWelcome to Surgical ICU! Our patient care experience includes, but is not limited to, unstable traumas, abdominal surgeries, complex vascular care, esophagectomies, septic shock, ARDS, and Stroke patients. This unit is an excellent learning environment if you are seeking to grow your skillsets.The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.Required Qualifications:CNA-Certified Nurses AssistantCPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLSPreferred Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED ExperienceSix months experience in a clinical healthcare environmentSix months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patientsOSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
