Job description
CNC Lathe OperatorIMKO Workforce Solutions is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator for a growing fabrication shop in Brookings. Responsibilities include setting up, adjusting, and operating machine tools, determining speeds and feeds, aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and accessories. Sequence automatic machine operations and define setup requirements, select cutting tools, and program proper feeds and speeds to successfully machine parts. Identify optimal manufacturing processes based on part configuration and batch size. Inspect work, making necessary notations on work routers. The nature of the work is a mix of small to medium quantity runs with frequent set-ups.Desired qualifications include working knowledge of metal fabrication/forming practices and processes, operating procedures for turning centers, drill/mill, and lathe, ability to read and understand job specifications, shop drawings, and blueprints, perform basic math computations associated with metal fabrication, knowledge of properties of structural metal and related items, mathematical aptitude, proficiency in editing programs and adjusting offsets, and experience inspecting parts using various dimensional tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore scopes, test indicators, and gauges.Salary and benefits include a competitive wage commensurate with experience, medical, dental, life, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, company-paid short-term and long-term disability, and overtime is often available - not mandatory.
