CNC Lathe Programmer/OperatorJob Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer/Operator to join our growing machining team. This position is ideal for someone who can take a job from print to finished part with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality and efficiency standards.DutiesDevelop and modify CNC lathe programs using Mastercam and Mazatrol.Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes including HAAS and Mazak machinesInterpret blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), to ensure parts meet design specifications.Select tooling, set offsets, and optimize cycle timesEdit programs at the machine and troubleshoot machining issuesConduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions.Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to tooling, geometry, or machine operation to minimize downtime.Maintain detailed documentation of production processes, inspection reports, and quality control records while adhering to lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement.Work closely with shop leadership and machinists to prioritize production schedulesMaintain a clean and safe work environmentQualificationsProven experience programming and operating CNC lathe machines with HAAS and Mazak controls.Strong knowledge of Mastercam and MazatrolLive tooling, Y axis and sub spindle experience preferredAbility to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately.Mechanical aptitude combined with understanding of tooling selection, machining techniques and materials from plastic to exotic stainless steels.Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments including bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, coordinate measuring machines (CMM).Familiarity with GD&T principles to ensure parts meet tight tolerances; experience with Lean manufacturing practices is advantageous.Detail and quality oriented.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly while maintaining safety standards.
