Job description
CNC Machine OperatorThe CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating conventional, special purpose and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts such as medical implants, inserts, trials and instruments.General job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations and set up requirements.Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders and shapers.Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.Deburrs and cleans final part.Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.Ability to use basic inspection equipment and techniques.Ability to read and interpret documents such as basic blueprints and/or operation sheets.Basic shop math skills to include the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.Must be able to bend, stoop and stand for 8 - 12 hours a day.Must be able to work rotating shifts.Perryman employees receive a range of benefits that, when totaled, add up to a premium plan that reaches beyond all the others - it features the following benefits:Wages and BonusTime off, Wellness program, Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life Insurance401(k) and Profit SharingPerryman vision and values, work environment, open communication, employee recognition rewards, discount programs, and moreQualificationsPreferred behaviors:Team Player: Works well as a member of a groupDetail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done wellDedicated: Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrityPreferred education:High School or better.Preferred experience:One year as a machine operator, or equivalent experience preferred.
