Also based in our New York headquarters are our sales, marketing, administrative, and service teams, who work closely together to ensure every customer receives a seamless, personalized experience at every touchpoint.Role SummaryThe CNC Machine Set-Up & Operator will play a key role in the manufacturing of precision components that support Clarapath's advanced SectionStar™ and TrimStar Pro™ platforms. This individual will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling and turning equipment to produce high-quality parts that meet engineering specifications and tight tolerances. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams, the CNC Machine Set-Up & Operator will help ensure efficient production, continuous process improvement, and the timely delivery of components critical to product development and manufacturing.We are seeking a hands-on manufacturing professional who enjoys working with precision equipment, troubleshooting machining processes, and producing high-quality parts in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, committed to quality and safety, and takes pride in supporting the development of innovative medical device and laboratory automation technologies.ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and adjust CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment to manufacture precision componentsInterpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions to ensure parts meet design specificationsInstall and qualify tooling, fixtures, work offsets, and machine parameters for production runsPerform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipmentVerify dimensional accuracy using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, and other inspection toolsLoad materials, monitor machining operations, and make tool wear and offset adjustments as neededTroubleshoot machining issues, tooling failures, program deviations, and machine performance concernsPerform routine preventive maintenance and maintain equipment in proper operating conditionCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and optimize production efficiencyIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, and waste eliminationMaintain accurate production records, inspection documentation, and machine logsFollow all company quality standards, GMP practices, and safety proceduresSupport prototype machining, new product introduction (NPI), and engineering builds as requiredAssist with training less experienced operators when neededMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following 5S principlesQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED3+ years of CNC setup and machining experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience setting up and operating CNC milling and/or turning centersAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and mechanical blueprintsStrong understanding of GD&T and machining tolerancesExperience using precision inspection equipmentKnowledge of cutting tools, workholding, feeds and speeds, and machining best practicesAbility to troubleshoot machining and tooling issues independentlyStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detailAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periodsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsTechnical school certificate or associate degree in Machine Tool Technology or a related field, a plusExperience machining stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, and other engineering materials, a plusExperience with Haas, Doosan, Mazak, or similar CNC equipment, a plusFamiliarity with CAM software and basic G-code editing, a plusExperience in medical device, aerospace, or other precision manufacturing industries, a plusKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies, a plusPhysical RequirementsFrequently stand and walk throughout the workdayLift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 poundsPerform repetitive hand and arm movements while operating machineryFrequently bend, kneel, reach, and stoopAbility to distinguish fine details during inspectionsComfortable working around manufacturing equipment in a production environmentCompany OffersCompetitive salary & equity opportunitiesMedical, dental & vision insuranceEmployer-paid life & disability insurance401(k) with company contributionsHSA & FSA optionsGenerous PTO & paid holidaysDaily catered lunchCommuter benefitsEmployee wellness & assistance programsCareer growth & development opportunitiesCollaborative, innovative, and mission-driven work environmentClarapath is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
