Job description
Job TitleMachine OperatorPlans and performs a variety of machine operations utilizing numerical control machining centers to cut, shape, or form metal workpieces to specifications.ResponsibilitiesRead blueprint drawings and parts list to process partsExperience using hand and power toolsAbility to perform basic math skillsBasic programming skillsSet up, adjust, and efficiently operate CNC and manual machine tools to perform diversified and difficult operations requiring close/exact tolerances on products with various dimension and finish specificationsCalculate and set controls and programming to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cutSelect, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into machineMaintain and inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usabilityStart and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as requiredClean and maintain machine, tooling, and parts to ensure that the equipment is in optimal production conditionMaintain and edit CNC programs to fine tune process for optimum performancePhysical RequirementsHeavy industrial environment with mechanical activities requiring personal protective equipment.
