CNC MachinistReports to: CNC Foreman/Shop ForemanSupervisory responsibilities: None.Summary/objective: Specialty Tooling Systems (STS) is looking to add a CNC Machinist to their night shift team. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for running the Okuma Bridge Mill. In general, the CNC Machinist produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.Essential functions:Download programs and MDI (Manual Data Input) as needed.Ability to perform your own programming and running your details.Setup and machine to the proper programs and tolerances required.Recheck setups, change cutters and inserts, and make adjustments as needed to achieve the best possible results.Maintain appropriate tools and keep current on calibration.Keep work area clean.Follow all safety rules and report unsafe work conditions to management.Regular attendance at work during scheduled work hours.Employees may be requested to perform other job functions as required.Required competency, education, and experience:Experience with 5 axis millExperience with Mazak, YCM, Hurco, or Okuma MillsA well rounded knowledge of cutters and inserts, and feeds/speeds.Candidate must have high school or equivalent education.Candidate must have valid driver's licensePreferred education and experience:Work NC programming softwareWork environment: Manufacturing environmentPhysical demands:Candidate must have full use of all limbs.Candidate must be able to read and speak English.Candidate must be able to lift 40 pounds.Position type and expected hours of work: Full time. 10-12 hour shifts depending on work load (4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. or 5 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.) Monday through Friday.Travel: None.Compensation/Benefits: STS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package which includes competitive pay, dental insurance, vision insurance, health insurance, short term disability, long term disability, company paid life insurance, voluntary life insurance, 401(k) plan with match, education reimbursement, paid vacation and holidays, and flex spending.Other duties: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
