CNC Machinist III (Aerospace and Defense)
Greater LAX area
Non-Exempt
The CNC Machinist III will be responsible for set up and operations of CNC Mill and Lathe machines used in Manufacturing and Fabrication of aircraft/ military components.
Strong focus on SAFETY FIRST.
Able to use the latest technology in 5 axis with focus on "Lights out machining" (Probing / Break detection…)
Knowledge of fixturing and tooling design.
Editing in MDI, preferred with Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, Siemens controllers.
Set-up tools and prove out CNC programs as needed.
Strong communication skills, wear PPE at all times.
Utilize ERP system to accurately record labor hours and production quantity.
Suggests recommendations to Leads/Supervisor concerning process improvements.
Perform standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, speeds and feeds of machining.
Understanding of lean, Kaizen and 6S concepts.
Can do attitude, continuous improvement.
The CNC Machinist III should have the following skills and requirements:
Ability to use inspection instruments.
Blueprint reading.
Must be able to speak/read/write English.
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Safety Shoes and Safety Glasses required at all times.
Must have 5+ years experience in CNC Machining 3-4-5 axis, CNC Programming background preferred.
Must have a Highschool Diploma or G.E.D equivalent
